IRREVERSIBLEMENTE beautiful (2006) is a video installation project that explores the behaviour of three actors and an audience in the semi-cavernous space of a basement in a Los Angeles home. The installation is composed of 6 different chaanels non synchronized with a duration of 13 min each.
The actors were asked to carry out a performance in this cellar following the same script, which only contained the name of the actor, being repeated continuously with varius annotations, ranging from affirmation to negation, from cacophonies and abstractions of the name due to excessive repetition to silence, from enthusiasm to frustration or tears, alternating differrent tones of voice.
From time to time, and while continuously shoting his/her name, the performer was instructed to carry out varius physical actions, such as making a hole in the ground, breaking a light bulb with an axe, throwing dirt or stones furiously to the wall, hiding in the wooden beams or hesitating, becoming silent, chaninging rhythms and entering the bubble of seeing outt but not completely recognizing themselves. Moments of silence and seeking while the tone rose attempting to reach and imposible place. No exit.
